Movie Review - "Dedh Ishqiya" - "The Power Of Good Cinema"

To be honest their were many reasons to watch out this movie, but my 3 reasons to watch this movie was, Firstly, I liked Ishqiya, it was one of the better movies i've seen in a long time. Secondly, Madhuri Dixit-ene, is coming back to the big screen after a long time, with her beauty that cannot be matched. Thirdly, the bro-mance between Naseeruddin Shah & Arshad Warsi is impeccable. So, is it worth the hype it got? The answer is "YES". It is all worth the hype it got.

Just like in the first instalment of this movie "Ishqiya", "Khalujaan" played by "Naseeruddin Shah" & "Babban" played by "Arshad Warsi" are 2 con-men, who are trying to get away from police for taking a "Necklace". But, during the chase "Babban" & "Khalujaan" separate ways & Khalujaan say Babban to meet at a place after this at a specific time. But, what you see is "Babban" alone emerging, infront of his boss, who is all ready to kill him & also break his "Gilli". Now, who understand "Hindi" would know, what Gilli means as if i write here, my blog can be banned. But, Babban successfully escapes from that place & now, go to search "Khalujaan" & he comes to know that he has become a "Shayar" & is enjoying his living. Now, here comes, what you've been waiting for, "Begam Para" played by "Madhuri Dixit-Nene", the beautiful, umm no, the most beautiful widow of a nawab has announced that she will soon remarry as promised to her late husband. So, a shayari competition is arranged for some days to search the best nawab for her & some of the best Nawabs would come to try their luck. So, Khalujaan also shows up to try his luck & he is able to impress Para by putting on a great show in front of her & manages to charm her. But, Babban lends up to the scene to settle the scores with Khalujaan. But soon, Khalujaan manages to rope Babban in to the conspiracy. Babban sets his eyes on "Munniya" played by "Huma Qureshi".

To get & marry Begam Para, Khalujaan has to give his best & has to compete with "Jaan Mohammad" played by "Vijay Raaz", who is willing to do everything to marry Begam Para. He has already kidnapped a poet, who he threatens to write off some good shayaris & ghazals for him & also threatened Khalujaan to leave the competition. The movie offers amazing humor in most of the parts in which you are forced to laugh as they are actually funny in their nature, that you cannot stop yourself from laughing. As this was expected that their would be a lot of twists & turns, which turns out to be the best part of the movie & i will not go further to spoil that for you.

Performance wise Naseeruddin Shah & Arshad Warsi are flawless, their chemistry is just super-awesome. But the X-Factor, in this movie is "Arshad Warsi" his comic timing & his dialogue delivery is unmatched. He proves it that he is not just good for comic role, but also for deep meaningful roles with a comic intent. Madhuri Dixit-Nene, now first time when she comes to the screen, Huma says, "Ki 2 minute se zyada matt dekhiyega unhe, woh kaagaz ki hai, unhe nazar lag jaati hai". But, when she comes to the screen, you cannot take your eyes off her for even 2 seconds, she looks beautiful & charms with her performance & makes an awesome comeback. Huma Qureshi as Begam's companion is superb. But, the guy who breaks out to be the star of the movie, well i would say the 2nd star(besides "Arshad Warsi") is Vijay Raaz, who is funny & dangerous at the same time. But still people always recognise him with a character, who eats "Kauwa Biryani" in a the movie "Run".

A hug for the director "Abhishek Chaubey" who puts a very tough film altogether & keeps us intact throughout the movie. The dialogues written by "Vishal Bhardwaj" are just awesome, the Urdu that you will listen in the first half will fascinate you but also would make you think what is he saying, but are awesome.
The only & very little problem people would have is the length of the movie, this movie looks a bit long sometimes.

GO, WATCH THIS MOVIE..!! YOU WON'T BE DISAPPOINTED..!!

My Rating - ***&1/2
Cast - Madhuri Dixit-Nene, Naseerddin Shah, Arshad Warsi, Huma Qureshi, Vijay Raaz
Director - Abhishek Chaubey

Movie Review - "The Wolf Of Wall Street" - The Power Of Lies, Drugs & DiCaprio.!!

The first Hollywood release has made a storm attack at the Box Office. This was the first Hollywood release in India & was stated to be a successful one. I mean, are we kidding on not to be betting on a movie, having "Di Caprio" & "Scorsese" combination. Those who still didn't got which movie i'm talking about, i'm talking about "The Wolf Of Wall Street". From the day the announcement of it's release the movie was in looks of every critic & audience too. It was stated that it is a "True Story" based upon a real-life memoir of "Jordan Belfort". Now, i continue with the movie analysis.

You see, everyone thought when the trailer came out that, this is a gamble  what has happened to Scorsese that he is making this kind of movie & DiCaprio working in it. But, when you see the movie, you see that this gamble works. Right from the very start, the film is full of energy & is too fast for you to realise that it's actually a movie of 3 hours. The movie revolves upon the story of "Jordan Belfort" portrayed by awesome "Leonardo DiCaprio" arrives in Manhattan to make it big in life. The very first advice Belfort gets from his mentor "Mark Hanna" played by "Matthew McConaughey", is to do hard & i mean super-hard drugs to stay up all the time. In this journey of his life, DiCaprio(Belfort) narrates through this journey. The market is in a bad shape & after the markets crash, Belfort tries his luck with his stock schemes, which makes him a millionaire. But, 70% of it's money is spent on Cocaine, Hookers, Cars, Super Homes & oh, yeah, a Helicopter & almost everything money can buy. He lives a life which many people want to live, but in a negative way.

Now, all he wants to do is to repeat what he did & made him so successful & a millionaire. Now, he has his army of stock brokers who he trains & when they are about to sell anything, they successfully do it. Belfort is enjoying himself with all the money he has & he enjoys like anyone can imagine. Belfort's wife leaves him as when he has lot of money, she catches him having sex with a blonde, super-hot & sexy girl named Naomi played by "Margot Robbie" in a limo. As his wife leaves him, he moves on & marries "Naomi". Before you start to realise that he has moved on & you know it when you see him gifting his new-wife, an expensive & awesome yacht named "Naomi". You cannot count the rules which are being broken & lives which are destroyed, which lands Belfort in deep trouble.

The casting of this movie is just spot on. Leonardo DiCaprio keeps the energy levels high & delivers on of the best performances of his career. He makes, "Jordan Belfort" looks shameless & arrogant as the director Marin Scorsese would have imagined. "He offers a solid, brave performance that reaches a fever pitch each time Belfort takes the mike to motivate his team. The actor also gets a terrific opportunity to show off his comic chops in one of the film's most memorable scenes in which he slithers and crawls in a party -drug-induced stupor from a country club to his Ferrari and proceeds to drive home." "It’s refreshing, if a little surprising, to see such a distinguished director taking such a crude and irreverent approach". The movie is all about "DiCaprio" & The story.

Some people won't like this movie to the extent of which i loved the movie because that's what they expect from "Martin Scorsese" & "Leonardo DiCaprio" to do this type of stuff. But, guys i think see this get some fresh air from a director who is very old but still believes in cinema which creates impact. "GO WATCH THIS WILD RIDE..!! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED..!!

My Rating - ****&1/2
Cast - Leonardo DiCaprio, Jonah Hill, Matthew McConaughey, Margot Robbie, Jean Dujardin
Director - Martin Scorsese
