So, The Oscar season is coming to a close now. With nominations for "Golden Globes", "Critics Choice" & "Produces Guild" awards. With movies like, "Gravity", "Captain Phillips", "Her", "American Hustle" & "The Wolf Of Wall Street" being one of the favorites. Let us check some of the biggest movies that have won this gold. This is the Part 1 of the 4 part series of "The BEST OSCAR WINNING MOVIES" I've Ever Seen.
1. Wall-E
This is one of the most heart-touching movies i've ever seen. The story follows a robot named "Wall-E", who is designed to clean up a waste covered Earth far in the the future. He falls in love with another robot named EVE, who also has a programmed task & follows her into outer space on an adventure to find her that changes the destiny of both if his kind & humanity. The love angle between these robots is a treat to watch, this is one of the best, sweet & un-conventional love stories you will ever see. I WOULD LIKE TO SAY, IF YOU SKIP THIS ONE, THEN YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT MOVIES ARE..!! Highly Recommended..!! The movie releasing upon 2008, still has it's own huge fan-following. The movie won "Academy Award For Best Animated Film" & was also nominated for 5 more Academy Awards. It is one of my best movies i've ever come across.

If you want to see a movie, where their is crime, some dazzling thrilling moments & one of the most awesomest acting & scripts ever "The Usual Suspects" is the movie for you. The film follows the interrogation of the Roger "Verbal" Kint, a small-time conman who is one of the only 2 survivors of a massacre & fire on a ship docked at the Port Of Los Angeles. If you want to see a movie in which you share an adventure with characters of the movies, then this is the one "Up". The story revolves on an elder widower named Carl Fredricksen & a young Wilderness Explorer named Russell. Carl's wife dream was to see the wilds of South America & he sets out to fulfil her dream, now guess how, well you see this is an animated movie all the things are fantasy & things what you will love to do. So, what he does, by tying lots of balloons to his house, he sets out on the journey. The adventure, the love & the superb character of Carl, make this movie worth watching. Now, where you will see, a flying & floating house in the sky, a dog who can speak, an explorer who finds best friend in a bird & a widower who is there fulfil his wife's dream. This is Magical..!!It was the first ever animated movie to be showed in Cannes Film Festival. The movie won the "Academy Award Of Best Animated Movie" & also "Best Original Score". Movie won 2 Academy Awards with total of 5 nominations.

4. To Kill A Mockingbird
Harper Lee's Pultzer Prize winning auto-biographical novel was translated to film in 1962 by Horton Foote. The movie is set in a small town of Alabama in early 1930's, the story mainly focuses on an honest & highly respect lawyer Atticus finch, magnificently portrayed by "Gregory Peck". He puts on his career on the line when he decides to represent Tom Robinson portrayed by Brock Peters, a black man accused of rape. The trials & everything are seen through the eyes of Finch's six year old daughter , Scout. The scenes in which the trials are shown are the main gripping sequences that gives the movie a momentum which it carries on till the end. The bonding of Scout with her elder brother & her friendship with her best friend takes you to a new level of relationships. The movie was a great success & has been with National Film Registry & 25th on the American Film Institutes' list of the "Greatest American Movies Of All Time". The movie 3 Academy Awards including "Academy Award For Best Actor" to "Gregory Peck", "Best Art Direction" & "Best Adapted Screenplay".

The movie's title is as interesting as the movie, itself. Based on the novel of the same name had 2 big names associated with it, Sir Anthony Hopkins & Jodie Foster. The story revolves on a young girl Clarice Starling played by Jodie Foster trying to get into the FBI & then she is being approached to deal with a serial killer, who is extraordinarily smart & psycho named, Dr. Hannibal Lecter played by Sir Anthony Hopkins & film also features another psycho killer, Buffalo Bill played by Ted Levine, who kills & skins all his victims & wants to be a trans-gender. With the interesting names of their characters & superb screenplay the movie is a must watch for all movie watchers. It has some of the best & most scintilating moments uou will ever see in a movie. Sir Anthony Hopkins won the "Academy Award For Best Actor" for a role comprising of merely 16 minutes on-screen presence, while Jodie Foster won the "Academy Award For Best Actress" & also the "Best Movie Award".

Based on a true story & a novel of the name "Schindler's Ark". The story revolves upon a German Businessman, Oscar Schindler played by Liam Neeson, who finds the opportunity to make money from Nazi's rise to power. He starts a company nd starts making cookware & utensils by bribing to get military contracts & also raking an accountant & a financer Itzhak Stern played by Sir Ben Kingsley to help run the factory. However, in 1942 all the Jews are assigned to go to Death Camps, but Schindler still makes some arrangements to find jews to work in his factory. But when he comes to know the truth about Death Camps & the condition of his Jews workers, he develops a conscince. He sees that his factory is the only thing that is preventing his workers to be taken to Death Camps. After sometimes, when Germany has fallen to allies & Schindler has lost his fortune, he is left with 1100 workers whose lives her has saved from Death. The movie works on every level, emotions, strong performances & then their is Liam Neeson with his superb acting he takes this movie to a new level. The movie won 7 Academy Awards including "Best Picture", "Best Director", "Best Adapted Screenplay" & "Best Screenplay". The movie is a Masterpiece..!!

7. Saving Private Ryan
The movie shows us the powerful & realistic recreation of World War 2's D-day invasion & its aftermath. The story opens with a scene in which a veteran brings in his family to a American cemetery at Normandy & then goes into a flashback joining Capt. Miller played by Tom Hanks & his General's going onto a war. The opening scene, now here is the moat important thinh, the opening scene is seen with a realistic & unforgettable scene where America soldiers are slaughtered. This is scene is considered to be One of the best scenes in Cinematic History. The story revolves upon getting back Private James Ryan played by Matt Damon, a survivor as hostage with the enemies. Capt. Miller chooses his men to get Ryan but when they lost a man in a bombed village they begin to queation of letting all soldiers die in getting just 1. Tom Hanks gives another award winning performance. The movie was nominated for 11 Academy Awards. Winning 5 of them including "Best Director" for Steven Speilberg, "Best Sound", "Best Cinematography" & "Best Film Editing".

8. Pulp Fiction
The movie which tells us the film making of modern era. It had that feeling of modernisation in the cinema industry at the time if it' s release. Directed by Quentin Tarantino, the film's story revolves upon intersecting lives of mobsters & a mysterious briefcase. The movie included 3 different stories of 3 different characters who are into crime & you see how each character & story intersects with one another. Movie is widely considered to be One of the Greatest Hollywood Movie of all time. It also revitalised the career of the main lead, "John Travolta" who got the nomination in the category of Best Actor at Academy Awards & also his co-stars Uma Thurman & Samuel L. Jackson. It is a powerhouse cinema with ober the top performances by everyone. The movie got nominated for 7 Academy Awards including Best Picture, but only won 1 for Best Screenplay to which many critics & audience got really angry. It is also been preserved in National Film Registry as one of the finest films ever been made.

The director of this movie Roman Polanski made this downbeat drama movie as he has seen the time when Nazis devastated his country during WW II. The story is based on a privileged musician who has spent 5 years struggling against the Nazi occupation of Warsaw. Wladyslaw Szpilman played by Adrien Brody is a very gifted musician born into a wealthy jewish family. But, things tak a u-turn when, the studio he is about to perform is bombed by the Nazis. But, he still thinks that he is above the danger. But, when Nazis takes the grip of Poland, he & his family are also selected for deportation to Nazi concentration camp. But, Wladyslaw goes into hiding in a apartment provided by his friend. But, when his friend is gone missing, he is left alone in the apartment & he spends his several years from going room to room & places to places to avoid capture by Nazis. The movie captures the emotional side of this character & story beautifully, you see Nazis capturing people like you've heard if you've seen their history. The movie was nominated for 7 Academy Awards & won 3 of them including "Best Director", "Best Adapted Scrrenplay" & "Best Actor"(Adrien Brody). This movie will make you emotional & will left you speechless..!!

ReplyDeleteSecond, dude, I really need to start watching more movies :P From this list, I've seen and obviously loved The Pianist. Wall E and Up are two movies that I never got around to watching completely, I dunno why, I must do so now.
Silence of the Lambs, To Kill a Mockingbird and Schindler's Ark are the ones I want to read first and then I'd definitely watch the movies.
Your first list has accommodated some pretty interesting Oscar flicks, though yes I was hoping I'd see some of my favorite Oscar picks in your first list as well like Titanic, Black Swan and The Silver Linings Playbook, nevertheless, I hope to seem in the upcoming parts of this post :)
