Well, with all the hype to this movie & is being released worldwide with 3600 screens, which is till date, the biggest release for any Hindi movie on a weekday. So, it's estimated that it's gonna break some records & has also got the 3rd Biggest Opening. But, is it actually worth the hype. To, which i say, a complete "NO!!"
The reason is, when you have such great actors in your movie, the plot should be something that people can understand, only acting wouldn't do.
( The cast of the movie "Besharam" in a scene (from left) Ranbir Kapoor, Pallavi Sharda, Rishi Kapoor & Neetu Kapoor)
The movie revolves around, Babli played by Ranbir Kapoor, who is a small-time car thief, but has some charm in him that everytime he gets through in any work he does. He keeps on repeating his mantra in his life "Na sammaan ka moh, na apmaan ka bhaye". Well, actually if you get deep into this, it's a very good line. But, the change happens when he sees Tara played by Pallavi Sharda, but after seeing both, you can immediately judge that they both are not each other's type. Babli tries to confront her, follow her & does everything to make her fall in love with him & then, we see usual Bollywood movie romance, holding hands & singing songs. But, suddenly, the twist comes when Babli is chased by a Inspector Chulbul Chautala played by Rishi Kapoor & his wife, head constable Bulbul Chautala played by Neetu Kapoor (who still can kill any young guy with her beauty). Now, Tara wants Babli to change & we get to know that, as who would want to marry a guy who is really a besharam.
The movie is directed by Abhinav Kashyap, i sometimes think, what his brother is doing & what he is doing?? Anyway, he again tries to make a perfect masala movie but this he falls flat on concrete floor. Dabbang, was a hit, because he had "Salman Khan" in it, not im taking his name for his acting skills, but why that thing worked because Salman Khan, has the ability to pull of the most nonsensical scenes & dialogues given to him. But, the second thing is his fans love it. But, it does not work this time.
Performances are not bad, they are good & very good. Ranbir in the character of Babli is really a Besharam, but still is charming & you'll feel that he is trying really hard to make it worth & he is just getting better & better. The dynamic duo, Rishi & Neetu Kapoor, looks charming & they do justice to thier roles. Pallavi Sharda, is also good in her role & plays, RK's love interest is really good, but her role is not that long. But, in the end, it looks like all the actors are wasted as the plot doesn't give them much to entertain.
Abhinav Kashyap's masala mantra doesn't live up to its expectations, as all it did the first time. His lead actor did his bit to save the movie, but the director didn't do his bit.. You can completely, SKIP THIS ONE..!!
