Movie Review - "NOAH" - A Biblical Majestic Ride!

So, there were many issues with this movie, people with "Christian" ethinicity believed that this part of "Noah" would be the least biblical movie ever. As the director of the movie said, this take on "Noah" is my way of looking into this story. So, the question is "Does he succeed in it?" & the answer is "YES". Let's move forward & see what the movie has in store for us.

The movie starts with the hero & his family, the last descendants of Adam's third son, Seth, in a world that is dominated by the evil descendants of Cain. they have been seeing unusual dreams like a drop of water which would turn barren lands into flowery fields. Noah played by "Russell Crowe" travels with his family, with his wife Naameh played by "Jennifer Connelly" & 3 boys to visit Methuselah played by "Sir Anthony Hopkins". Some scenes in this movie just take your heart away, the scenes where he saves animals, innocent animals are just brilliant. One of the best dialogues that i have ever heard in a movie is, when he saves the animals, he says "Small Piece Of Creation can be lost Forever. It's our job to look after them." (Bloody Awesome)
Noah gets a fream, in which he sees GOD telling him to make an arc which would save the world by the calamity that is coming onto them. After the message, Noah takes years to build a huge arc that will protect his family by staying afloat when the massive flood comes. You will a lot of great scenes till the time he is making the arc, even until the doors of the arc is open. But, when the arc doors are closed, the movie gets somewhat a little predictable. But, the director "Darren Aronofsky" has done a superb work as what you see on the screen, you will believe it, even if it is massive but you tend to believe it, it's so powerful.

It was a challenging movie for Aronofsky, in every interview he said that. Aronofsky is the director of the movies like "The Wrestler" & "Black Swan" has made his first biblical film that garnered so much controversy. To be honest any movie made on religious beliefs is to be handled with care, as people get offended if something is shown what they don't like. But, the director has done a masterful work & has done & made his intentions clear with his execution.

Some parts of the movie are bizzarre but awesome, but some scenes are just massive & majestic. Russell Crowe is the best thing in this movie. He looks awesome, confident, rough & brave & everything you wanted to see in a heroic character like Noah. Every other actor have done their work superbly. But, Emma Watson as a young girl is a treat to watch. As a whole, "Noah" is an ambitious project & quite a big project. This movie would be with you for a long time, now that's the power of "Good & Powerful cinema". It's a movie that you would want to see on a big screen & feel the power of it & you can talk about this movie for hours with your friends.

GO WATCH THIS! RECOMMENDED!

Cast - Russell Crowe, Jennifer Connelly, Emma Watson, Anthony Hopkins.
Director - Darren Aronofsky
My Rating - ****

  1. Nice review Aayush. The film itself is executed relentlessly well. It's just that its morals get caught-up in a bit of a twist.

    1. Thankyou so mucch, Dan O! Yaa, actually from the very first time the plot was shared with the public, it always had 2 sides. One side, which was welcoming the new change in this biblical extravaganza & the others who were talking the old roads!

So yes, the film's moral's got twisted up! But, in the end the product we got was an "Extravaganza"! :) :D
